Is anyone particularly enamored of the Marketing component? I am having a hard time finding an easy way to use Marketing, given the challenges with duplicate customers (lots and lots of dupes) and the inability to see who has unsubscribed. Maybe I am missing something? Anyone got good stuff to say/experiences to relate? Help a sister out, if you could, thanks!

I absolutely love Square Marketing!
First on the topic of Duplicate Customers - if any two customer accounts in your directory have the same email address, square will suggest to merge the duplicates. I always Merge All with no issues. If you still have duplicates in your directory after this, they will not have the same email address on file, so you don’t need to worry about them getting multiple emails at the same address.
On the topic of not being able to see who unsubscribed - that never really affected me. If they unsubscribed, then that’s their loss! I focus on sending good meaningful impactful emails to the people who are subscribed!
The automated emails I have set up are the Welcome Email, Birthday Request, Birthday Coupon, and lapsed customers. Every month or so I’ll send out an update with new flavors, or a special, or new information. Once a year I’ll send out a coupon.
My customers love the birthday rewards, I use the welcome email to give new customers more information about my shop, and lapsed customer email helps bring back customers who might have forgotten about us, my monthly email gives me a nice boost of sales when I do something new and cool, and my yearly coupon at the beginning of my season brings people in for the whole summer!

Thanks for jumping in on this convo @pessosices! I will admit, I do love getting my birthday reward emails from Square sellers I've visited in the past!
@GC219 The only thing I would add is that if you ever do want to know who unsubscribed from your marketing campaigns, that's something you can check. This article explains how you can view those unsubscribed folks.

Also with new updates to Marketing, it's a whole lot easier to see who Unsubscribed, as well as who Opened, Clicked, Bounced, and more - just by clicking through the Campaign Info on the Marketing Dashboard! Super awesome update that really adds a ton of value to Square Marketing!
