Hi @Gripper,
Thanks for bringing your concerns about this to the Community.
I’ve come across a similar thread where this appears to have been discussed before, so I’ve gone ahead and merged this post to that thread.
I’ve also looked at the discussions with our product team around the topic, and my understanding is that as the test email that you're sending is essentially a preview (covering all ordering scenarios), and not attributed to a product, you will see reference to digital downloads. However, when an actual order is placed for a physical item, the verbiage in the confirmation email will be reflective of the item type.
If you’d like to see an accurate example of what your customer will receive, you could either create a low value test item and make a purchase. Or, create a 100% coupon code and purchase one of your pre-existing items. (Online > Items > Coupons)
If you find that any of the confirmation email wording looks inappropriate for the item type after making the purchase, please do let me know, and I’ll bring it across to our engineers for a closer look.

Hi
I sent myself a test email for a post sale email.
It mentions digital downloads which I don't do.
None of the fields appear to be editable either.
The top section is okay, the footer area is accurate, but all the other stuff is gobbledygook, and not subject to editing.
Has anyone else solved this none? Thanks

My test email still shows this exact message as the subject.. PLEASE give us the ability to edit and customize our email subjects. Some of our stores would like to stand out a bit to our customers as well with different email subjects.

I changed several products from the "digital" to the "service" type. However, I cannot delete the "digital download" reference when trying to customize my confirmation emails to customers. I ticketed the issue and Weebly's response was as follows:
1. Because the product type was originally set to digital, I will ALWAYS see the digital download reference when trying to customize my confirmation emails. This, despite the fact that in WeeblyWorld, to change the product type from digital to service, I had to delete the product entirely and re-enter it. Still, somehow, the system "knew" that my new service was formerly a digital download...
2. Weebly then suggested I check with my customers. Yes, that's right: after sending my CUSTOMER an email, I should rely on THEM to tell me what my email to them said. (Where the heck is the facepalm emoticon? This site definitely needs a facepalm icon...)
3. And finally, Weebly informed me that "you yourself will continue to see that digital download portion within the test emails." So, if I understand correctly, there is NOTHING Weebly can think of that they could possibly do to fix this complex coding challenge so I'll just have to live with it -- or ask my customers to work with me on a workaround to compensate for Weebly.
I'm not comfortable sending my customers emails that I can't edit, so I'm taking Weebly's suggestion on the workaround and adding the following statement to my confirmation emails:
Thank you for your order. In creating my Web site, I made a terrible mistake and chose to build the site with Weebly. Now, I have to live with that mistake until I can switch to another host. If this confirmation email contains anything non-sensical or irrelevant, please accept my apology. Weebly won't let me see the emails myself so I have no idea what Weebly has written to you. If you have any concerns, just contact me...also, if you have any recommendations for a different Web site host. Thanks!

Earlier in this thread, it said the issue had been fixed, but with no information about how it was fixed. I'm sure the good people at Weebly realise that not all digital goods require a download, so how is this still a problem? I first saw this raised several years ago. I am selling entries into a writing competition. I want to be able to change the email template and remove all reference to a download.
Please help resolve it as your customers are clearly not happy.

Thanks for your post, @davehut. There was an issue that was fixed, though it was actually separate from the option to edit the email title (I don't remember what that issue was, though, since it was more than 2 years ago). This would be a good thing to post to our Vote on Features board if you'd like that to be editable:

We don't offer digital downloads as we are selling guitar pickups--an actual physical item. All products are listed as physical items as well. How do we get rid of "Your download is ready" in the subject line and get rid of the "digital widget--link can be downloaded 4 times" within the email template? We don't want anything in the email about digital downloads at all since we don't offer that. Any help would be great and quickly.

That line won't be included with emails actually sent to customers, @grasonguitars; it's there in the email template you see but we only include it with actual digital orders.

Hello Adam,
Has there been any resolve regarding the removal of the phrase 'Your download is ready' on the subject line? This seems to be a major issue for a lot of users, myself included!
Thanks in advance,
Lowell

Hi Lowell. This is an older thread, but as Adam explained previously, the download verbiage will only appear if you have your item set to digital. The test email you can send yourself from Settings>Email Settings>Order Notification>Sent Test Email will show an example for each type of product. Only the relevant information will display on a live order notification, though.
