Online stores not optimized for mobile? Responsive?

We dont have an online store yet but after just checking out the feature and looking on my iPhone 6 I'm seeing the sites are not optimized for mobile. However when I adjust my web browser it appears to be responsive.

Is there something wrong with Square's store setup, or is thier a setting wrong on my phone?

Items should not be microscopic on a customers display, it should fit the screen with an appealing design.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi @GroveandBaker, thanks for surfacing this.

You're correct. Online Store sites aren't optimized for mobile devices at this time. Our Product Liaison team is aware and tracking this request. While we don't have a specific timeline regarding when this may be enabled, I'll share your experience. We'll definitly announce any updates as soon as we receive them!

I built my website first.  Then switched from PayPal to Square.  Then the April 21, 2015 Google Mobilegeddon happened.  I've delayed converting my website to a mobile friendly platform until Square catches up.  Since it is closing in on 2 years, I would hope that Square realizes how much they are hurting my conversion.  Square has come out with gobs of new features since 4/21/2015.  And yet making the extremely imporant online store mobile friendly languishes.  Please give us something more than "I don't know a date yet..."  Please take this issue to the top where it belongs.

Definitely understand the frustration, and wish we had a better timeline to offer you, @AlpacaMan

To be more clear, we're not developing the Online Store's mobile responsiveness further at this time, so I would encourage you to find the right solution for your business, even if is not our free offering. That isn't to say to your feedback isn't shared and heard here (see the link Tom shared above), rather I'd prefer for you to find the right solution for your business as soon as possible.

Sean wrote up a post about some of the integrations we offer for various website builders. Additionally, you can find more info on each partnership from your Apps dashboard. These integrations will allow you more customization and flexibility with your website, while keeping your payment processing in one place. Apologies again for the experience, I hope this info helps.

It's 2022 and they still have not figured out how to make sites responsive. Sad.
