Why can't I enter the expiration date when manually entering a card?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: I am trying manually enter a credit card but it won’t allow me to enter the experation year]

 

 

Trying to enter a payment manually but when I get to the month and year it won’t allow me to the use in

I've moved your post to this thread as it sounds like what you're experiencing is related to the expiration date issue we had our engineers look into, @mdr_moore. Please take a moment to update the Square app on your device(s), and things should starting working as expected for you!

Thank you for the information.

 

With the information you have provided, just enter a month that is the same as the current month. Enter the year. Enter the CVV Then go back and change the month to the correct month.

This worked for me, hope it helps someone else.

Several times in the last few weeks when manually entering credit card # - I will put in the month but it will not accept the 2 digits for the year...I rebooted..waited awhile & tried again..still not processed..Frustrated as to what seems to be wrong..

Please ensure that you are currently running the latest version of the Point of Sale app, @wildflowercusto. Once you've updated your app, you should be able to successfully input payment information manually.

We've been having trouble manually entering credit cards to the Square app. We started using the virtual register, which is fine, but will I still be able to run credit cards through the square device without any problems?

Would you mind clarifying your question? - we are not sure exactly what you mean here.

 

All transactions taken with Square are time-stamped with the exact time the transaction was taken. Meaning that if you process a manual card-entry payment, your records will reflect the correct time in which was taken.

When I try to enter the expiration date on the credit card, only3digits appear, which means the 2 digits for the month and one digit for the year appear. For example 01/3 appears instead of 01/23. As a result I can’t complete the manual transaction

I'm sure he means the date entry when manually inputting a credit card.  It's a very, very annoying issue.  One that should be pretty up there on the todo list I would think.

Crap !! Please someone fix this issue. Square WILL NOT accept manual entry of C/C. On the date format it takes the month and only the first digit of the year. IS ANYONE WORKING ON THIS AT SQUARE ?

Took Square app off phone - reinstalled - logged back in. It has been like this for two months. AGAIN....PLEASE HELP !
