Why can't I enter the expiration date when manually entering a card?
[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: I am trying manually enter a credit card but it won’t allow me to enter the experation year]
Trying to enter a payment manually but when I get to the month and year it won’t allow me to the use in

I've moved your post to this thread as it sounds like what you're experiencing is related to the expiration date issue we had our engineers look into, @mdr_moore. Please take a moment to update the Square app on your device(s), and things should starting working as expected for you!

Hi there, @LNg - if you are still experiencing this issue and have insured that you are running the most up to date version of both your device software as well as the POS software, we would recommend flagging this issue over to our Support Team. Square engineering team:
I’ve experienced the same problem that many of the users here have wrt to not being able to punch in the 01, 02 etc for credit card expiration. We’ve been using Square for 1.5 years in our business and haven’t seen this yet.
However, the iPad we use cannot support the updated fix- see attached screenshot. I cannot go buy a new iPad because your software update requires an iOS update too. Can we get the fix for older versions of iOS too?

I have run all updates, turned machine off/on, rebooted internet.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I am unable to enter the year when entering a card manually for a payment. It seems I can only enter a 4. I've been using the Square for years and have never encountered this problem. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi @Hilda2 I've merged your post with an existing thread in which Joe helped to answer your question. Another suggestion outside of making sure your app is up to date is to try to enter just "4" for the month and not "04" to see if that works.

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps listed on the first page?
This bug was fixed in an app update so I'd recommend checking for an update.
There's also these app troubleshooting steps you can try as well from our Support Center.

Hi there
I have the issue of not being able to enter a "2" as the first digit of the year in the expiration date. I'm using an (old) iPad. I tried to update the square app but when I go to the App Store it says all my apps are up to date. Please help!

Good call updating your Square Point of Sale application software! We would also recommend double checking your iPad iOS software is up to date as well, this can affect the overall production and performance of our software.
It's important to note that some iPad versions are unable to be updated to current iOS software.

My card is under Professional Services for a Behavioral Health Facility. My card appears to be deactivated without an explanation. The transactions are freezing when I enter the expiration date on the card. I did not have this problems in 2019. Please respond.
