Sales trends report change

As of today, it looks like the sales trends report has changed the way it calculates the metrics.  For example if I'm looking at today versus this same day last week using the same period last week option. 

 

Prior to today if we choose the comparison of today compared to the same period last week, It always showed as up-to-this-time for that same period last week. But now it is showing the whole day. So you have no idea if you're tracking better or worse today than this day last week.   In fact, it'll probably always be a large percentage down all day until we get to midnight and can see if we were truly up or down.

 

For example, if last week on Wednesday by 7:00 a.m., we had done $100, and today on Wednesday by 7:00 a.m. we had done $110, then it would show that we were up for today so far compared to the same day last week.  However now it is showing the entire 24-hour period of last Wednesday compared to today so far and that doesn't give us any kind of indication if we're doing better or worse today than we did last Wednesday.  So at this moment we are tracking at 89% below last Wednesday. Which is not accurate.

 

Was that intentional? 

 

It wasn't like that yesterday as I was tracking the day.

 

@Marco can you look into this?

There really needs to be either a “Square Reporting” option or “Online Dashboard” option in the “Choose a board” field here.  Just saying.

Update: This change was not intentional. I believe we’ve identified the root cause of the issue. We're taking a closer look at the backend and hope to have it resolved soon! Thank you so much for flagging this!

I'll also resurface that feature request and see if I can get a clear answer. Stay tuned!
