Payment didn't go through

because I realized after the customer signed and left, I had put in the amount  manually wrong, shy of .37 cents. I went to just make the balance cash and hit the wrong button and now becuase of that, there was still a balance , which made the transaction fail. So am I just out the $45 or can square still process the cards, since the customer signed

I’m not exactly sure what you did because the amount should auto fill in if you are just swiping or entering a chip card, unless you hit split payment. 

 

Check your transactions to see if there is a payment or error or nothing for this transaction.

Yes, I hit split and then split it wrong, so I wanted to just make .37 cents cash and hit something else and it wiped it all away. So even though they both signed , it had the balance , they had left already, so I guess I just lost that money, which stinks.
