No light on reader?

My reader stopped working. It’s always plugged in. There are no green, yellow or red lights. It simply seems dead. I’ve tried everything that’s recommended to do.

Firstly, welcome to the Seller Community + sorry to hear that you're here because you've run into trouble. 

It's possible that you left your Square Reader paired to your device and on during the times you were not using it.

We recommend unpairing the reader when not in use. That should help keep your battery healthy!

 

I recommend trying to reset your reader, if you haven't tried that yet. Feel free to get in touch if you want help running through the troubleshooting steps! If that doesn't get you where you need to be, and you've already run through all of the other troubleshooting steps laid out on that page, check to see if you are still within the warranty period for your Square Reader for contactless and chip, and follow the directions there to order a replacement.
