Expense and mileage submission requests via payroll

I appreciate that Square payroll has an option for me to reimburse staff for mileage and expenses. HOWEVER, many payroll systems allow employees to fill this in themselves and then those expenses are approved before payroll is run. 

 

I'd like to suggest that Square include a feature in the Square Teams app that allows staff to submit mileage and expense reimbursement requests almost in the same way they can submit timecard changes. I'd also recommend the system be updated annually with the Federal mileage reimbursement rate which would also cut down on the potential for my staff to miscalculate. 

 

Currently I have a lot of staff that work offsite and they submit miles/expenses via an excel tracking sheet that I then have to manually enter into Square. This would eliminate the requirement of the second system and eliminate potential for errors.

I agree. It would be nice to have this on the labor and tips report for those of us who don't currently use Square payroll. I'd love to, but there are complications for us. Having it on the team app would be great.

Thank you for your response. I am writing to follow up on this, any progress??

 

I think there are so many automated features that you could implement through square teams that could easily be tracked through Square teams app so we do not have to manually track it. The employee submits and we approve. PTO for example! They can request time off and write what it is for (PTO, sick leave, etc.) but they can't actually designate it so it doesn't pull through. I have to have separate excel tracking sheets for all my staff on these items.
