New Categories wont report properly

Help! I assigned categories that I made sales through, and now I can't see them in reports. It seems to have assigned almost all sales to one category in reports rather than reporting what each category made. I need to break it down in reverse so I can see how much each category made today in a report prior to assigning each sale to an item for a report. 

 

Thanks, pretty desperate here...
