Hi, we have an e-commerce store with you that sells alcohol and also card processing for takeouts. As we have now been given the go ahead to re-open the pub after covid is it possible to add a fixed amount to an item for customers who drink in the pub i.e. corkage?
So for example, the takeout and online price for an item might 4 GBP but if they are drinking on-premise we would add 1 GBP as a corkage charge.

From my knowledge there are 3 (maybe 4) ways to do it as it stands now:
• Add 'drink in' as a modifier for each item (assuming the charge is the same on all products, then you'd only need to create the modifier set once & apply it to all the items). This would mean your online customers would be able to select the drink in option - but can't see this being too much of an issue as don't think they'd want to pay the extra £ for no reason.
• Create separate items for drink in/take out. This could be a nightmare if you use stock control as you'd then have two different items for the same create of stock.
• Create variations in each product. This pretty much takes the worst of the other two options, it would separate stock & also show the option to your online customers.
• (Option 4, have corkage as a separate product - either as a single amount that's added x amount of times for x drinks or as a variable amount where you just enter the value based on how many drinks.)

Option 4 sounds like it might be the easiest to implement as it would be a fixed amount. I'll try it out tomorrow when I have my PoS terminal to play with.
Many thanks for the suggestions.

I just tried this out, adding a modifier for 'paper bag'.. I sell items weighed into a customer's own container but if they don't have one I can sell them a bag. As a separate Item, it is easy to forget to charge for the bag, but as a modifier it's a nifty reminder to apply the fee..
Except the modifier is in the same units as the product so this won't work for me.. I sell items by the kg but want a 'per item' price for the bag! Maybe worth a feature request to allow a modifier to be a different unit to the item it modifies..
