I'm hopping back into all the product news after returning from a maternity leave. I'm so glad to be here! I am equally glad/thankful/grateful/forever-in-debt to @tranguyen and @nika for supporting this area of the community while I was out. They did a stellar job and I appreciate them both very much. 😊👏🫶

 

Well the start of the school year is here which means it's September! 🎒 It also means it's time for our monthly roundup of all the new features and product updates posted in the US Seller Community in August 2024. Let's see what's new!

1. [Improvement] Enhancements to Projects and Invoices

🏷 Square Invoices

 

We’ve recently made some updates on the type of information you can include on your projects and how you can organize your Projects and Invoices list views. These updates are available on both Square Dashboard and in the mobile Invoices app and will better help you organize both your Invoices and Projects.

2. [Improvement] Introducing Time Off Reports

🏷️ Team Management

 

As a step forward to improve the time off experience, we’re introducing Time Off reports, your one stop home to view, manage, and track your team’s time off in a reporting view. Today, once a time off request is in the past, there is no stored record that can be referenced by sellers or managers. We understand that being able to review past requests, status, and total time taken off by a team member is crucial to managing your team members' time equitably and assess performance.

3. [Update] Important Updates to Your Coupons in Square Online

🏷️ Square Online

 

We announced earlier this year that Square Online coupons are moving to Square Marketing, our email marketing tool. With the help of the feedback shared by many of you here, we have added to the coupon features supported by Square Marketing and streamlined the migration process to be faster for most sellers.

4. [Improvement] New Hire Onboarding

🏷️ Team Management

 

We’re excited to announce that we have made improvements and expanded the new hire onboarding feature to additional Square subscriptions! Sellers with Square for Restaurant sellers with Shifts Plus capabilities, Legacy Retail Plus, Appointments Premium, Shifts Plus, and Team Communication in the US are now also able to request onboarding tasks and documentation from their team members.

5. [New] Send eGift Cards via Text Messages

🏷 Square Gift Cards

 

Your customers can now send eGift Cards to recipients via text message, in addition to email. When your customers purchase an eGift Card, they will now have the option to send the Gift Card to the recipient via email or text message.

Could you indicate the location that update etc are available, possibly by adding relevant flags or similar

Hi @tonydow - thank you so much for writing! Currently the Product Update Roundup includes only US updates, but I do love the idea of adding some kind of notation if the feature is available in other locales too. I will figure out how to incorporate that in my next post. Thanks!

Did you remove the email information from the individual orders page?  Why would you do that?  Now I have to have a 2nd tab open just to use the customer director to email my customers, which I have to do multiple times for every order.
