Free Shipping - Operator Error I'm Sure

Just setting up our store for the first time... had a friend try out the checkout... worked fine, but she is offered free shipping reguardless of what US address we tried (we tried local and other states).  I'm sure I have something set up wrong... but I do not know what it is.  We have even gone all the way through to "review" by submitting it through paypal or adding credit card info.... the shipping stays free.  Thanks for any advice.

update*** I just added the last picture... where it says I need to upgrade to use realtime shipping... is this why???

Hello! Sorry for the confusion. The Real Time shipping rules would require an upgrade, yes. However, you should be able to set any other type of shipping rule with your current plan. I'd recommend setting some regular rules up, when possible.

Mine just stopped charging shipping and is giving away free shipping.  I used to have it set at a flat charge of .1lb to 1,000 pounds, so I tried changing it to a flat rate of $3.60 per order - no change.  People are getting a deal today unless I can get this fixed!

Is this only at PayPal where you're seeing a problem, @jonveley? I tested your cart and it added shipping for me:

No - an order just came through and shipping wasnt charged.  I've been testing it on my computer with the same result at the weebly checkout screen.

Ok, it looks like you need to update your PayPal account to PayPal Express. If you go to Store > Setup > Checkout, you should see an "Update" button there. Click on that and it should walk you through doing this.

What if it is doing the same thing with the credit card option?! Finding this out the hard way too.

I can help you out with that, @AdamL What is the name of your store and do you have a sample order that gave free shipping?

I figured it out. My problem was that I had the Real Time rate selected and not the flat rate.  I feel like the help section is a little confusing but I was able to work through it.

Ah, yes, you need to be on the Performance plan to use the real time shipping feature. The editor didn't alert you to upgrade when you first selected it?

Happy to hear you were able to sort this out, though. Please let me know if you have any more shipping questions! Smiley Happy

I've upgraded & still nothing I do changes free shipping from appearing. I've selected USPS Priority 1-3 day shipping, fallback rate of $5 & US as the region. Nothing changed after upgrading. Very frustrating.

also, is there a way to set 1 pound as default for all & then manually change any that are necessary?

Make sure that all of your products have a weight entered, @calicopaw, that way USPS will return a proper rate for the item. There isn't a way right now to bulk edit products to add weights, so you'll need to do this individually.

It doesn’t correct the free shipping issue. Nothing does.

Nothing is jumping out at me as wrong with your shipping set up. Hmm.. You could try deleting your two rates and re-adding, and if that doesn't resolve it I would contact our Customer Success team via our support site:

I'm having the same problem. Few different shipping rules (weight-based) and no matter how many times I delete and re-add them, everyone is still getting free shiping.

Welcome to the Community, @Dragonmun

I tested checking out with one item and using the address of the Square office in San Francisco and saw shipping applied:

What items were you testing with?

I sort of figure it out, but the solution was in line with the Squareup->Weebly synchronization errors that I've been having all along. Made a new location in Square (yet again) and that seemed to fix it.

I'm glad to hear you were able to fix it, @Dragonmun Sorry to hear you were having trouble with the location sync, though. Were you able to speak with support to make sure everything is straightened out now?

I have a business account. I believe I did everything to the letter, but still my items are showing as free shipping. I have a test item for 1.00 which is set as 1lb and the rule I set for US is 1Lb 9.00

None of that shows up. I did a bulk edit of all items and selected fulfillment shipping. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Gin

Hi I'm having the same problem with free shipping. I have it set up for flat rate but it is still offering free shipping at checkout. Do I need to upgrade to charge for shipping?? I'm lost
