Allow free shipping coupons, but not to Alaska and Hawaii

I want to set up a coupon for free shipping, but only for shipment to customers in the continental U.S. (not Alaska or Hawaii). The current coupon code setup allows selections for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, United States and Canada, but there's apparently no way to "exclude" Alaska and Hawaii. For some reason these selections appear twice. There seems to be a programming error.

Hello! If you have a shipping rule set up that excludes those regions, you should be apply to apply the coupon to that rule under the Select Shipping Methods screen to get that result.

I'm not exactly sure I understand your response. I normally ship to those regions, but at higher shipping rates than the rest of the U.S.. So I don't have a shipping rule that excludes those regiions. Please explain further if there's a way to accomplish what I want.

Sorry for the confusion! In your case, you have separate rules for Alaska, Hawaii, and the rest of the US. By clicking the Select Shipping Methods button at the bottom of the coupon menu, you should be able to check the boxes under the United States entry. That will make the coupon apply to the US shipping, and only the US.

I guess what's confusing is that Alaska and Hawaii are part of the U.S.. By selecting U.S. shipping, it seems Alaska and Hawaii would be included. But I tried setting up a coupon as you suggested -- and it worked! How simple. This after being told earlier via Weebly chat that the ability to exclude Alaska and Hawaii was not a current feature. Thanks for your assistance.
