How do I target a popup to a certain group?

I'm not sure this is possible or even the best way to go about what I need.

I have a membership site. Free 7 day trial. I have a paid members app to automatically end their free trial after 7 days. 

At the end of the trial, members are just denied access. I want them to be able to login and get a pop up to subscribe, without being able to access the rest of the site unless they do.

I created a new group of "expired trials" for members to be auto added to after the 7 day trial in hopes of targeting a popup or a page to this group. 

Unfortunately with not being able to auto direct certain groups to certain pages, I'm not sure how to best go about what I'm trying to do....?

Thanks for your post, @LuLu77. I see what you mean, although I don't know of a way to do what you want. Have you tried contacting the makers of the Paid Members app? Maybe they have a way to do something like that via their app?

I did send the app owner a message asking if there might be an easier way to do what I'm trying.
