End of Browser Support for Adobe Flash

Just an FYI for those still using Flash:

Firefox will end support for Adobe Flash in Firefox at the end of 2020, as announced back in 2017. Adobe and other browsers will also end support for Flash in January and we are working together to ensure a smooth transition for all.

Firefox version 84 will be the final version to support Flash. Firefox version 85 (release date: January 26, 2021) will ship without Flash support, improving our performance and security. There will be no setting to re-enable Flash support.

Will switching to a different browser allow me to use Flash?

No. Adobe and other browsers will also end support Flash at the end of 2020.

Even if you install an older version of Firefox, the Flash plugin itself will stop loading Flash content after January 12, 2021. See Adobe’s Flash Player End of Life information page for more details.

If your website uses any Flash-based multimedia modern versions of browsers (and mobile devices) will no longer be able to display it. You can test your website for Flash content here:

https://seositecheckup.com/tools/flash-test

If it fails, you'd be advised to switch to non-Flash alternatives e.g., HTML5.

Hope this helps, Gary

Thank you, Gary. I am grateful for the help. I have used the Adobe tool for removing flash from my computer, but it didn't remove all of the files. I am wondering if this will leave me vulnerable somehow.
