I've been comparing my Weebly blog to my Blogger blog and how obvious the READ MORE is for both when the "read more" break is employed
Conclusion:
- really easy to see there is more to the post on Blogger - because READ MORE is on the left immediately under the last words you wrote
- REALLY EASY to MISS THE "READ MORE" on Weebly - because it's way over on the right hand side

@makingamark: Not really.....It is a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer on the right because it gives more white space around that text so it stands out, some prefer it on the left becasue it is a continuation of the last words.
Makes no difference.

It's not a question of style - it's a question of
- functionality
- comparison
Like I said I did a comparison with Blogger - and the READ MORE sign on Blogger is a LOT more obvious.
The READ MORE sign on Weebly is smaller and lighter (by default)
READ MORE is a navigation aid not a style piece - it needs to work.

A simple CSS addition or change could change where that link is positioned (and how it's styled, for that matter). If you post a link to your site I'm sure someone could offer a quick solution. If I remember correctly there's a unique class for the link, so it would probably work for most sites.

Why is everything is a micro response on this site? This is a generic issue - not just something for me
I've got three sites. I may build more.
What I want is quite simple - the READ MORE to be very visible (which it isn't)
The simple option is to give the READ MORE the option as to whether it defaults to the left or the right
