Star TSP654IISK Failed Prints

Is anyone having issues with the TSP654IISK and failed order ticket printing when the paper present mode is enable?

Square support has told me that if an order sits on the printer for to long, eventually following orders print will fail. However, the retry interval before failure seems much to short for a busy environment (about 18 seconds according to Square support).

We are using Square Registers running Square POS. I can't gain any traction with Square support to increase this interval or better yet make the interval configurable by the end user.

Thanks everyone.

@phadmin sorry saw your thread sitting and wanted to get you an answer.  You have 3 ways to fix this for you.

#1 turn off the force taken sensor:

disable taken sensor

#2 you can change some internal settings via windows on a network (and I think you can download the star printer app and do it too)

#3 you can change how your orders print.  It sounds like you have tickets piling up and your kitchen just can't get to them fast enough.   If you are using square kds you can print each ticket when you are ready to make it from the screen and that would effectively solve your problem.

The inherent limitation with a sticky printer is if tickets just keep going they get stuck together and defeat the purpose.  You can force some changes but you do those at the printer level instead of the software level.

Hope this helps.
