Square stand and the terminal

I’m using Square stand with the Star Printer driven till drawer and printer. I’m also using my terminal as a reader but when I use it, it prints the receipt from the terminal instead of the printer although it prints via the printer when it’s a cash sale. I’m connecting the terminal wirelessly but do I need to connect the terminal via the hub (which I don’t have at the moment) to get the transaction to print via the printer?

Good question, when you connect your Square Terminal with your Square POS app on your iPad via a device code, receipts can be printed from your Square Terminal for card payments while the transactions are being processed. 

It is not currently possible to have the recieipts print from your external star printer while the Terminal is connected to the app, even through the hub. 

If you did want the third party receipt printer copy you would need to either not process the transaction through the Terminal while it's synced to the app or you would need to process the transaction through the Terminal, disconnect it from the app and go back into transactions and manually reprint the receipt through the external printer.
