Hey there Stivesjewelry,

I believe that Samsung 24 phone requires a USB-C connection.  If you want to use a Magstripe Reader, the first thing you need is this adapter and Magstripe Reader that has the "headset jack", not the Lighting Connector.

Note, if you only plan to use a Magstripe type reader, you should consider what's called the "liability shift".  It's very important that you read through this info

A better option is "Tap and Pay" - no hardware required and reduces your acceptance liability - suggest checking out the details here

From personal experience, we really like Square's Contactless and Chip Reader - it's an additional expense, connects via Bluetooth and does require charging but, has been very dependable for us.   It's just a personal choice of course.

The Samsung 24 does not have a headphone jack so I purchased the other reader. But the plug is for iPhone. I did find and try my contactless and chip reader. It connects much easier than it used to so I may have to give that a try.

I read your response more closely. So it's best to return the new reader and use old phone jack reader and buy adapter. Many thanks JK fiber art!
