How to deactivate shipping address in online checkout

I have an item with an online checkout link. Customers need to be able to pay for this item but pick it up at our physical location. How can I disable the requirement of entering their shipping address? If they enter an address they get the message that we don't deliver to their location (even if it is in the same town).

Hi @BrewHaHaCoffee - it sounds like you are currently using online checkout links to allow your customers to place pickup orders. A few weeks ago, we expedited our curbside pickup and local delivery features, and they're available for you now!

From what you've explained, it sounds like you'll want to go ahead and set up curbside pickup instead of using checkout links for your customers. I'd recommend checking out the helpful tutorial video included in that link before jumping in. If you have any questions about how this works after taking a look here, please let us know so we can give you a hand.

This answer doesn't actually help... because I see no way to deactivate address in checkout. I'm looking for a faster checkout experience. Trying to make it easy for first time users.

Hi @samwell - sorry for the confusion here. Val's answer was meant to convey that removing address preferences is not available when using Checkout Links. Instead, we would recommend moving over completely to the Online Store layout - which offers the ability for your customers to select Curbside Pickup at your location.

I understand... I think the confusion here is that you are not allowed to remove address even when switching to the Weebly pickup/delivery store. When competing with Stripe and other payment processors, it would be nice to have the ability to take away street address from the account set up altogether, and just use zip code.

YES!! We are having the same issue -- people are calling in orders and we're using the online store to process them (rather than our Square terminal) so that we can track them -- and it's so clunky to have to ask for street address. Is there no way to turn this off?

Hi there, @brennan! Thanks for adding your voice here to this thread. Checkout Links do not offer the ability to remove the address feature - we would recommend moving over to the Online Store which allows for the flexibility of Curbside and Delivery features which would does not require the address during transactions.

So if I want to send a customer an item link, it will always have the shipping option?

I like being able to send an item link, so they don't get confused by what to choose and can check out quickly.

Correct @cookiewhipped. At this time Checkout links will request an address even if the item is intended to be picked up.

My best advice would be to open the checkout link yourself so you are able to experience what your customers will see when they visit it, and that way if questions do come up in regards to the process you will be able to answer them.

I hope this information is helpful!

Hey @cookiewhipped,

Thanks for being a member of the Community. You are able to set up a pickup but not delivery using a checkout link.

To set up a pickup, go on your Square Online Dashboard >  select the item you created through that checkout link > choose either pickup or shipping> then set up that fulfillment through the Dashboard.

Let me know if this helps.

Here's a link with more information about Checkout Links.

are they working on adding delivery? It's frustrating that I can't send my customer's directly to the items they want when I offer both delivery and pickup.

I don't have any details regarding pickup and delivery for Online Checkout Links. I would like to invite you to submit a feature request This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers with similar interest in your request.

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).

The Checkout Links really do need to allow for the "skipping" of entering shipping address information.

I'm using the checkout link to allow my students to pay for their yoga classes and I only need their email address and phone number.

Please add the "skip" shipping address feature to the Checkout Links.
