Every time we sync WooCommerce Products with Square, Square deletes the tax rate
Without fail anytime a new item is added to WooCommerce and synced with Square (which we've done 1000's of times), the tax rate is stripped off, causing our cashiers to miss hundreds of dollars in sales tax collections.
All setting are set to tax every item in WooCommerce, so the deletion of taxation is happening during the Square sync portion of the data reconciliation.
- How can we ensure that every item in our catalogue is synced with Square and tax is properly added as it is uploaded and enabled on the WooComm side?
Over recent months we've simply been going into Square's tax settings and enabling tax on every item manually using the apply to all toggle; but this leaves us open to missing massive taxable sales -- and the state department of taxation won't accept "the software didn't work" as an excuse.
Thank you.

Hello @UsernameHere thanks for your post. I'm sorry you're having trouble with this issue. It looks like Woo Commerce sync issues have been ongoing based on this thread. Maybe something listed here will help you. One item I saw listed here is contacting for Woo Commerce and that this issue may reside on the Woo side of things vs. Square. Not sure myself as I don't have direct experience with Woo. Not sure if it's a matter of being able to checkbox what characteristics of an item get synced, but this seems like if it's not an option, it may help this issue.
I hope you'll be able to find some resolution to this issue. If you find something please post an update as this issue may also affect other users.

The issue is definitely with Square. Tax is always applied and stays enabled on WooCommerce for all our online customers. Square strips tax during sync.

@UsernameHere were you able to find resolution to your sync issues with Square and WooCommerce? I am currently experiencing sync / inventory / taxes / sale price issues between WooCommerce/WordPress and Square. Working with WooCommerce/WordPress support actually sent me here because they do not have an answer going on two weeks.
Today's discovery is: "Type of $catalog_object must be an ITEM" This is showing in the log from my WooCommerce to Square sync. I have had an ecommerce site and brick and mortar for the past five months where everything seemed to be working fine. Last couple of weeks have been trouble shooting after trouble shooting. Four separates issues all at once... ANY insight or assistance would be very much appreciated. Thank You!

Hey there @UsernameHere and @hegotweed based on personal experience this is something that needs to be reported to the Developer or the Square Integration to WooCommerce and if thy find that Square is at fault they need to get in touch with our API team so they can assist shining a light here.
Sorry that I don't have a better response but all the control we have on our end is to connect or disconnect the integration from your account. I hope this makes sense and also hope that both of you find a solution soon.
