How can I use Offline mode with the Square Stand in my food truck?

We have a Square Stand in our Food Truck. It works great until some festivals get really crowded then we can't get a signal to complete transactions because of all the cell phones. We select OFFLINE MODE and only swipe cards, but the Square reader constantly tries to get back online and this locks up the reader for 4 to 5 minutes and we can't do anything about it other than wait till it Offers OFFLINE MODE (which we already allowed in Setup) or we turn the iPad off. Both are a huge pain. 

How can we "force it" to stay offline and stop searching for a signal til it slows down?

Try putting your iPad into Airplane Mode in Settings.  This disables both wifi and cellular signals and your device should stay in Offline Mode permanently.

Just remember that you have a limited time after the event to connect to the internet so your stored charges can be processed, plus there's a higher risk of chargebacks when sales are entered in Offline Mode as the card can't be verified.
