Recording app detected

Got a new compatible tablet for my biz. The tablet recognizes the mag stripe reader going in and out. But keep getting message of recording app detected. Made sure no apps besides square have the microphone permission. And mag stripe works fine on other devices. Did notice a headphone symbol appear on tablet when plugging in mag stripe. I don't get that symbol on other devices. Help!!!

I'm highly doubtful that it's something from Square.  It sounds to me like your new tablet came with the recording app already installed.  Can you search your apps to see if there's one for recording on the tablet and deactivate it or delete it?  I suggest that you take it back to the store where you bought it and ask if they can help track if down.  But if it were me, I would return the tablet just on principle if the app came pre-installed.

depending on what the notification says exactly it could be Square.  Square is "listening" to the headphone jack to read the encrypted card numbers from the swiper.

True, depending on what it says, maybe "recording app" is just the new tablet's way of saying the microphone is active.
