Customer name missing in transaction report

Most of the transaction reports show the customer name, but a few do not. What would cause this discrepancy? I am using WooCommerce in WordPress and the website reports show all the names properly.

Thank you for reaching out. The integration between Square and WooCommerce/WordPress - isn't perfect. Customer names don't attach to transactions whenever they come in from WooCommerce/WordPress. The only time customer names get attached to the transaction is if it's added from the Customer Directory. 

 

If you are having issues with it on WooCommerce/WordPress, then you would have to reach out to them directly. They handle their side of the integration.

Just to clarify what you said about the customer directory...

Does that mean the name displayed in the report only if the exact name already exists in the directory, or the name displayed in the report if the customer uses a credit card in the system?

 

Also, the WooCommerce plugin was provided by Square (https://squareup.com/us/en/app-marketplace/app/4SQJWP8V68AY8EEe4gQkU2), so I would think they could fix that problem.

Correct, names will only attach if the customer has been added from your Directory to the transaction. 

 

The plug in doesn't include customer information. It makes uses Square to accept your payments and inventory changes are synced.

No Dave. I have learned that Square always blames in someone else and never solves the problem. Zero accountability. In my case customer names and all other information populate from my online store just fine. It only malfunctions with Square. Coincidence?

This and many other issues could be solved if you provided us access to all the data elements so we can create the various reports we need. Currently, we have to combine Online Order reports and Transaction reports in order to get the customer name included, which is nuts. Please provide us with a data warehouse!!!

Just a followup issue - why provide canned reports that don't meet our needs. Square "custom" reports are extremely limited. Example: We pay our artists/teachers by commission. They are added as vendors in POS items but the vendor name does not show up for Online Sales in the Vendor Sales report. Same for other online sales (Memberships). Below is an excerpt.  We want to do more online sales but since we pay vendors by commission instead of invoice, this is a huge issue for us.
