My contactless chip reader won't pair with my iPad anymore. I've tried uninstalling the square app and reinstalling it. I've restarted my iPad and everything is on the latest update. But when I try to pair the orange lights just keep flashing but never connects. The same thing happens when I try to connect to the app on my iPhone.

Sorry to hear about the trouble with your chip reader and thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot. That definitly shouldn't be happening. 🤔
There are a few more pairing troubleshooting tips in our Support Center that may resolve this right away — you'll want to double check that your reader is fully charged, Bluetooth is turned on, and that you have a strong internet connection. Have a look here for more information: My Reader won’t pair with my device.
If you're still encountering this issue after giving it another try with those steps in mind, please let our Support Team know or reply here with any other details on what's going on. Hope this helps clear things up. 🙂

@Mmammo sounds like the appointments app either needs updating or reinstalling since the reader is working with the standard POS app.
Let me know if that doesn't help.

I’ve had the same problem.
I was told to click on forget this device to reboot the whole deal. Well I did that and now my phone won’t even recognize the card reader to pair it up.
This has happened to me with two card readers

I've attempted all of the trouble shooting protocols, removed the app then added it again. Its fully chageed. I tried a hard reset. If anyone has any help it would be much appreciated

I went ahead and merged your post to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed this topic as well. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future.
I checked our Device Compatibility page and found that your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is compatible with the Contactless + Chip Reader. Please follow the instructions listed here for pairing your reader. Keep in mind: You'll be pairing the reader directly through the Square app, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

Im having issues with my 1st gen, if i press button it shows 4 green lights so it should be fully charged but when button is held until 4 orange flash to go into pairing mode when releasing button it changes to 4 red immediately and then nothing else. I have tried all troubleshooting advice.

Welcome to the community, and sorry to see that it’s trouble with your Reader that’s brought you here.
You mention that you’ve tried all available troubleshooting, however just to be sure nothing's been missed in the sequence, could you review this short video.
If you’re still having trouble after that, could you tell me if you see any error message within the Square app when you’re attempting to pair the Reader, and let me know the make and model of the device that you’re attempting to pair to.
