After the latest update all of my categories are not in alphabetical order and it makes checkout so hard!
I have searched all over settings… please HELP!

To sort your Categories:
Go to your Square Dashboard > Items > Inventory Management > Categories.
then on the Right side there is a Button you can press Rearrange.
Then you will have Up and Down arrows that you can tap ONCE, wait for the Category to move Up or Down depending which Arrow you pressed.... Then repeat till you get the category where you want it.
Now if you want on your Square Stand You can Rearrange these there too by Holding down on a category then the Screen will change and ask if you want to edit these and you can drag them in an order with in reason. Another way to edit this is to Press the Menu buttom in the bottom Right..... then I forget off the top of my head what you press but I think It is settings the Edit Screen or something. Sorry I am not infront of my Square stand for this.
Here is an older article about this that I was trying to help someone with last year or so. But as you can see the screens are all different with the continuous updates by Square. Which is another reason I forget the current terms for doing this.
If you can not get them to rearrange on the Stand let me know and I will see if I can get a video of it for you and post it in this thread.

Hi @Wyoming. Is this question referring to your Online Store? Or your POS? Is it possible for you to post a screen shot of what is wrong, and your URL if you are referring to your online store?

First of all on my Square Stand I have the same issue where they are out of alphabetical order.
Watch me Scroll for Cedar Lanterns..... Searching for Cedar Lanterns
What I was told is if you go to your Square Dashboard, Categories you can organize these there and they will update on your Square Stand. The issue is you can not just choose Sort by Alphabet..... You must tap an Up arrow, wait for screen to refresh, then tap the up arrow again and repeat. This will take forever to move my Cedar Lanterns from the Bottom of my categories list to the correct alphabetical location.
I already complained about this to the one Beta Team about the Pain it is to move the Categories.

I did find on a Square Stand you can press and hold a tile for example 'Seller Rent' and a pop up will appear to Edit these so you can move them on the screen by Dragging and dropping them. My previous reply was more to the issue of opening one of those tabs and everything inside is out of order.

@Wyoming Ok. I want to be sure before I try to find another seller who might be able to answer your question or give you some assistance. Are you using the Retail POS on Square Register by any chance? Not on an iPad?

We use the iPad register provided by square
This looks like Square Retail on Register. On SquarePOS on Register the Library categories are in a list format and still show correctly in alphabetical order.
That’s what I thought, too. I’m hoping there is a SS who uses Retail and Register and knows something about this. Thanks for ruling out sPOS!

Scratch that - I think Wyoming is using an iPad with a Square Stand and Square Retail - just based on the location of interface elements.

If you notice…. It goes in order for awhile and then it just lists randomly
very frustrating
Hey Register Super Sellers…. I’m tagging you folks again, since I don’t use Register and am unable to replicate @Wyoming‘s issue. Are any of you seeing this using Retail or sPOS on Register? If so, do you know of a cause and/or workaround. Thanks, in advance!
