Hi, everyone,
I'm new here and I'm trying to set up my business and am having issues. I can add the discount into the system and in the square app it takes more of a discount than what I have set and then in my website there is no discount offered when you go to checkout but yet it says that there are discounts available to be used on certain amounts of the products that I offer.
My thing is how can I fix this issue?
For example: I'm selling 1 item at $1.00 but then I want to offer a discount on 6 items and the discount I wanna offer is $4.00 for the 6 items. In the square app it gives a $6.00 discount and on the website there is no discount offered at all.
Please help me out.
Thanks,
K. McNerlin

So in general on the Square Discounts when you want to apply a discount based on Quantities, Square deducts an equal amount to the items if it is a Dollar amount discount. So I had a buy 3 for $21 discount. So the item was $8 each (3 x $8 =24) the discount would be $3 or $1 per item. Square does this so if an Item is returned that was bought on discount the peurchaser does not get the Full dollar value back. Each Item returned would get $7 per item and not the $8 for item normal price. So when Calculating a $ discount, you need to divide the total $ amount by number of items if that makes sense. So in your case, Customer buys 6 items for $1 each or $6. But you want to apply a discount to $4.00 when a customer buys 6 or $2.00 off of 6 items. So 2/6 = 1/3 or .3333333 cents per item discount which ends up being $1.9998. Hopefully that gets you close to the Square for Retail discount you would like. As for the online discount I am not able to help since I do not use Square for online sales.
