How to edit a sale to remove the tax? I accidentially had tax setting to "Include Tax in Item Price"
Hello, I'm really new to Square. I could use some help with those more experinced with it. Thanks!!
How do you edit a sale after the fact to remove the taxes??
On my Sales Summary the total collected is $910.00, but because of the taxes it only show $854.46 in the Gross Sales. Charging $55.54 in taxes.
This transaction was NEVER INTENDED to have sales tax added. I accidentially had my Tax settings on "Include Tax in Item Price".
How can this be edited after the fact to show correctly in my Sales Summary??
I can't imagine that it is locked forever and you can never edit it...could it be locked forever???
Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Hi there, unfortunately once a sale is complete there isn't a way to edit the transaction after the fact.
Going forward you can remove the tax settings so that they do not apply to your sales automatically. You can view how to edit your Tax Settings here.

You can't edit the transaction, but if you catch it quickly enough you can issue a refund and redo the transaction to correct the record.
