How to handle single Square Stand and Cash Drawer - switchover on shifts
When we have a shift change, the employee comes in with a new drawer of starting cash. The issue we are having is that there isn't a way to suspend the drawer to give them time to count the drawer, and you can't open another drawer under the new employee.
Ideally we should be able to suspend the drawer, open the new drawer and start working. Then go back and enter the amount of cash in the drawer and close it out.
How are others handling this scenario?

Currently, there is no way to "pause" a cash drawer. In order to open a new drawer, you will need to close you original drawer. You are able to close out your drawer and swap out your physical till to give your employee some extra time to count the drawer without slowing down your line.
This is just one work around, I'm sure other sellers have ways around this issue as well!

That would mean that you are closing your drawer in the system without actually counting the cash. How do you handle discrepancies?

Hey @cupofcarver, thanks for porting this out. Currently, it is not possible to edit cash drawer reports, or make adjustments for discrepancies after the drawer has been closed. If possible, your employee would have to count the cash in the till before closing out.
I realize that this isn't ideal for your current multi-drawer setup. Our product liaison team is tracking this request and we'll announce any updates. If any other sellers have any insight, please chime in!

You can close out a drawer and open a new one without doing the count if you leave the actual field empty. It's important that there not be anything in the field though. Even spaces will make it uneditable. then it will show up above the drawer reports under unclosed drawers
Note that it is only this field that you can do later. You won't be able to enter a paid out/in that you forgot to record.
