How do I get barcode scanning to work?
I'm brand new to Square Retail, running tests and bar code scanning is not working for me. I'm sure it's a simple fix.
I've set up an item with the title like this: 97[Redacted]0 The Encyclopedia of Photography
When I enter a charge, Square allows me to search only on item name or price.
When I scan the above item, Square does not find it: it just thinks that the barcode (97[Redacted]0) is the item price.
I am using Square Retail on my laptop via a web browser and am not using the app. Can that be the problem?
Via the app, can I scan by SKU?

Hello @SalNY.
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your scanner. You have entered all of your SKU numbers and saved them, correct? If you want to use the bar codes on the product, you CAN scan them into the POS or Dashboard with a USB scanner, have you tried this? I reached out to our Retail Team for more clarification around using Retail and the scanner function on a web browser rather than on the app. I will get back to you on this as soon as I hear back.
