Customer receiving "Missing or Invalid Default Region"

A customer sent me a screen-record of their attempted transaction. They are attempting to pay with Apple Pay. The transaction appears to be complete, then in the cart a message appears "missing or invalid default region." 

 

Is anyone familiar with this? Is this a checkout related issue or an Apple Pay issue?

Apple Pay will save its own shipping address and use that for checkout, so it’s possible that the customer doesn’t have valid information saved for Apple Pay. Suggest they check their Apple Pay info to ensure it's accurate and complete.

I am testing out my website and trying to make a payment using Applepay. I have tried the suggestion made on the 30th but it did not work
