Hello,
I noticed a new fee under processing fees there is "Square sync production fee".
I have not done anything new except start testing square kiosk which my understanding was $50 per ipad. (not starting until next year)
Is this a new fee for specific services?
Thank You

Yes, it is the extra processing fees they charge for online orders. I think its 30cents per order. We always paid it. I think the just started breaking it down differently.

I started seeing this fee once I started doing online delivery orders. Was several times over 2 days but able to finally get an agent who was able to let me know this was part of the delivery charge; it includes Square fee, DoorDash/Uber charge, and customer tip to driver. Square needs to implement a change to display this breakdown since it's taking a huge percent of the overall cost. Not having a breakdown feels misleading and untrustworthy-- transaction charge is $60 but the Square Sync Production fee is $18.
I also started to seeing this charge separate from the normal square fees. The problem now is that I cannot add the App transaction to Quickbooks because no accounting default is defined for the fee. When I try to add the transaction, it errors and says to go to the Account mapping in Advanced Settings. But I cannot add an account mapping on that screen for the new (or split) fee (Square Sync Production fee). Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to solve it?
Thought I would share since I have been seeing this fee for a few months and no one at Square could break it down for me. This "new" fee is for your Square Online orders that were delivered. The calculation is as follows: Delivery Fee + Courier Tip + Flat $1.50 per order (this is based on how you have your delivery settings set up). We have it "On-Demand Delivery" therefore there is a flat $1.50 charge per delivered order. Hope this helps.
That calculation doesnt work for me and more than that, the amount being transferred to me is significantly LESS than the sale price — and then I still have to pay taxes. I need to know exactly what goes into the sync charge AND i need to know why my transfers are less than they should be. I need to see the calculation in both cases. I think we all do
