Is it Square's intention to phase out Square Stand and force customers to move to Square Register?

Haven't seen updated Stands in quite a while and just wanted to verify the intention of Square is to phase out the Square Stand and force existing customers to purchase Square Register.  Is that correct?  If not, when will the new Square Stand be available?

This is definitely not the intention but I can see how you might think so considering a new Stand isn't out yet.

We don't have any announcements on a new Square Stand at this time but our Product Team is definitely aware of the need for one and I'm sure one is in the works.

We'll update the relevant threads when one becomes available but to answer your question I wanted to let you know that isn't the intention.

Thank you for your reply.  However, am I mistaken, or wasn't the last update for Square Stand back in 2017?  You can see how your customers can come to the conclusion that there are no plans to support a new Square Stand, since one hasn't been made in several years, and, at least to my knowledge, nothing has been shared from the company as to when the new one would be released.  Please just be open and honest with your customers about what the plans are.  No need to hide or "spin" things, just tell us.  You'll gain much more respect, and build customer loyalty if you do that.  

With that said, I ask the same question again.  If you don't know the answer, would you be so kind as to get someone that does?
