How can I track the inventory and sales of each variation?

If I create a menu item for Nachos and add a variation named "add on chicken," I'm not able to see through my accounting software R365 the add on chicken as a separate sub-item so that I can track not only its inventory, but the reason for the price difference. Currently it just populates as nachos that is $5 more than the normal price. Is there a way to link a variation/modifiers/add ons as a separate menu items instead of creating actual menu items so I can not only track its inventory, but the reason for the price difference? Otherwise I would have to create 10 different nachos as menu items, each with different recipes and prices. What is the best solution for this?
