Is there a way to find a cancelled cash sales report?

I recently caught 2 of my employees stealing cash sales. They would add all the items up in the square register and give the customer the total of what they owed and then cancel the transaction and pocket the cash. They were sneaky about it because they always made sure the register count wasn't messed up at the end of the day. Is there a way to see ALL cancelled sales?

Thank you!!

@Mwalk To make sure I give you a good answer, are they ringing in a transaction and the cashing it out?  then refunding it and pocketing the money?  or are they simply ringing everything up and doing the math in their head?  Both are two very different things on how you handle it.  The first one doing a cash refund is easy to find in transactions.

The latter is more nefarious.  What you will need to do is set up device codes for the registers.  Then you will need to make sure you don't have "keys" for the drawers right there.  The next step is to under security require a passcode to "back out of a transaction".  This is where they would total up the transaction to take a payment and then go back.  Under permissions you would need to make sure you have the team passcode or employee permissions set to not allow opening the drawer outside of a transaction, or back out of a sale.  Your passcode will do it, but not theirs.  It is annoying, but you have a different issue.

Under your reports, if you scroll down, you want to look at activity log.  This will show you every time someone does a refund, or opens a cash drawer.

The key here is to make sure each cashier is on only one till, and they count it down before and after, but don't let them pull reports so they can't see the amount of cash that should be in the till.  This is tedious, but there is no other good way except putting a camera on them and taking these cash control procedures.

The last and probably most important important thing is to make sure the register prints a receipt with every transaction and require all customers to be given a receipt.  This will stop the cancel a transaction as you can't get a receipt without it.  Otherwise you could also implement an order taker and a cashier where you save the ticket on one register and take payment on the other, thus guaranteeing every transaction has been recorded as an open ticket and then cashed out/paid out.
