Card Transactions are accepted but not processed until days later

I'm having an issue of cash sales go through, post in transactions and reports. When we run cards they will show in transactions but not in the reports. They are not processing until 2 days later and have the little red circle in the transactions the day after it should have been processed right away.

@4fwebsalesHmmm. First thing I'd recommend is to make sure your register is on the latest version of Square. There may be an update that's hanging up causing the problems. The other thing I'd recommend is to try signing out and signing back in so the servers sync the data. Do this only when you have no pending transactions though or you'll lose them!!!!

 

After that, I'd recommend giving support a call. There may be a switch that didn't get tripped that's causing the problem. They can dig deeper into your system than we can in a public forum.

Hello @4fwebsales !

 

Okay, that's a little odd! Credit card transactions should be happening right away. What Square product are you using: regular Point of Sale, Restaurants, an online integration, or something else? That will help us troubleshoot further.

 

Off the top of my head, the only thing I can think of is that you're set up for printed credit card slips, where your customer has to sign a receipt. Those are not tallied until you run your close of day report or after 36 hours. That can be adjusted on your device at More -> Settings -> Checkout -> Signature & Receipt. If this is set up to sign on printed receipt I could see a delay in reporting. For small transactions, you don't need to worry about signatures. I do recommend keeping signatures enabled if you're handling large dollar transactions. That way if you get a chargeback you have one more piece of information to present to the dispute.

 

If the signature thing isn't the problem, please let us know what device you're using and we can troubleshoot further!

I thought something with the tip or signature was the issue as well but I've tired both and nothing. I have the v1 Register.
