importing items excel file

I tried importing the whole item Excel file several days ago, after upload file  just showed up the " Something went wrong on our end. Please try again later. Please contact support for additional assistance resolving your issue. " or showing the red box " Server returned an error .please try again later. I tried more than 20 times  but the same . How can I get through this? I need to import my Excel file. Please let me know how to.

This does not sound right unless you have a bad internet connection or you downloaded your catalog, made changes then tried to upload it.  Then during the time of you making your changes  your Square account Timed out but you thought your were still connected.  I have had the  something went wrong box a few times but when I used a wired connection and stable internet connection it would go through in 1 or 2 tries.  Are you using a computer that is connected to a wireless carrier for internet?  What are your internet speeds for Uploading?  My uploading Square catalogs happened more at home where my upload speed is about 12Mbps compared to at my store where uploads are at 50 Mbps.  This may be why things are going sideways for you.  Also besides something went wrong are you trying to add new items with a Token or a Refrence Handle that You entered, these are fields Square creates.  Without seeing the file, I am just taking guesses and what my experiences have been.

I run a gas station, so I upload item files frequently cause I have various new items.  Before this happened nothing was wrong. Recently it has occurred in the same circumstances.

I am not sure what to say, I had it happen and then it went away on its own but that was a while ago.  The only other times I got errors when uploading and got an error message.  I would get an Error file to download which in the far right column would explain the error.  Now I do not upload my inventory daily.  Mine is more seasonal uploads.

Do you have a screen shot of the error your getting?

Hey @daysman , that is frursating you cannot upload your items. I would love to help. 

 

As @Candlestore mentioned, it would be helpful to get a photo of the error message you see. I also would like to get more information:

 

  1. What browser are you using?
  2. What kind of device are you using?
  3. Are you able to try another device? 
  4. Have you previously imported before? Is this your first time?

1. I tried both of google chrome and MS windows 

2. when I upload item file I usually use my laptop, samsung.

3.yes  laptop at stroe and I tried desk top at home.

4. I run the c store so I imported excel file  so many times,

Can you sign out of the seller community and back in? Then try uploading the photo.  Does it still say you don't have permission to upload? @daysman

error message poped up 

they mentioned about server connection problems
