Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

The title of this post has been edited from the original:  Can automatic discounts be used on the online store?

 

When I create automatic discounts, such as quantity or amount discounts, they work perfectly well on my point of sale but do not work on my online store.

Can anyone help me?

I appreciate all your patience while we work to get this feature implemented. The beta testing for this feature has currently been delayed. Our team is working very hard on the backend to resolve some roadblocks that have prevented this from going. If you would still like to join the Beta for this request you can certainly still do so. I know this is incredibly hard but I appreciate you all for hanging in there! 🙏

Re: Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupon on Square Website

Currently, the Online Store doesn't support Buy-one-get-one coupons. However, you can assign standard discounts to certain categories. From the site editor,  visit Items > Coupons > Add Coupon. You'll find an option to choose eligible categories under Discount Details at the bottom of the page.

have fun playing with this, it’s a good automation we use it on our website to welcome new users and subscribers, with a discount voucher off their first online purchase. It’s very popular, you can track the popularity of use of the voucher under site activity and coupons. If you use different vouchers you can track where people are interacting with the site most.

@doc_choc  I don't seem to have that option...  I can see several options for automations, but nothing for new subscribers...  Is this only available for the Premium plan?  We have Plus...

@doc_choc Ok, so the automation I set up is the welcome automation - my understanding is that the first time someone visits the site they will get the email for $5 off.  And omg do I feel silly now - because OBVIOUSLY they have to ENTER their email address in order to receive that email...  So sorry for squawking about that...

 

One other question you may be able to help me with.  Is there a way to get notified by email when there's a new subscriber?  Or a place to go within the account to see new subscribers?

@kmccoy I think there are three plans, build, grow and accelerate and I think the grow plan allows the automated emails, but double check it’s been a while since I have looked at the plans.

@kmccoy We receive an email notification every time there is a new subscriber. I have to be honest I can’t admit I can’t remember if this happens automatically or we setup as an option, it’s been many years since we setup. I’ll have a dig around and if I can find more I’ll get back to you. (Got a feeling it just happened)

Our business absolutely needs this also! We have automated quantity discount on POS that we can't apply for pickup/delivery.
