Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

The title of this post has been edited from the original:  Can automatic discounts be used on the online store?

When I create automatic discounts, such as quantity or amount discounts, they work perfectly well on my point of sale but do not work on my online store.

Can anyone help me?

Hello there!

I appreciate all your patience while we work to get this feature implemented. The beta testing for this feature has currently been delayed. Our team is working very hard on the backend to resolve some roadblocks that have prevented this from going. If you would still like to join the Beta for this request you can certainly still do so. I know this is incredibly hard but I appreciate you all for hanging in there! 🙏

Hi! We'll be launching a beta test for Automatic Discounts on Square Online in the next couple of weeks. Head over to Automatic Discounts for Square Online to join the Beta Community and request access to this beta test.

Currently, the Online Store doesn't support Buy-one-get-one coupons. However, you can assign standard discounts to certain categories. From the site editor,  visit Items > Coupons > Add Coupon. You'll find an option to choose eligible categories under Discount Details at the bottom of the page.

I agree! We need this ASAP as other websites offer this feature & it really would impact our sales.

I sell beer.  We have a 10% automatic discount when you buy a case of beer.  I can't do the same online. I know I could create a coupon and I can select it to apply just to certain items, BUT online all of my canned beer are single items with different units, 

Brand

   * single can

   * 4 pack

   * case

So if I create the coupon I can only select the brand level and now you get a discount whenever you buy 6 cans instead of 6 4 packs...

It should just be one thing

Hey guys, sorry you are running into some issues. @CourtneyBakes what happens when you try to join? I went ahead and provided both of your account information to the Beta Team for the BOGO test and they did confirm you both are on there @CourtneyBakes @TLBB2018. But you will just still need to make sure you are joining the actual Beta Community. Please let me know if you are still having an issue.

Hello, I am requesting an automatic discount option for online orders.

I am looking for a way to offer buy one regular priced item, get one sale item free.  I see there have been requests for this type of offering going back 2 years...  Is it STILL not an option??  We just moved our site from Wix to Square, and I have to be honest...I am not real impressed with some of the things that are lacking over here...  I also want to be notified of site traffic, and customers signing up for text & email campaigns, and to offer an automatic discount when they sign up.  Am I missing these somewhere?  These seem to be very basic necessities.  Thanks.

The BOGO feature is currently being tested in the Beta community, along with other types of discounts. Fingers crossed it all goes well and will be available soon! I set up a BOGO discount and it seems to be ok so far. The testing helps with any glitches before the feature goes live to everyone. 

You can set up a coupon for your website when someone signs up for your newsletter. Just go to Online->Items->Coupons. It's super easy.

I think some of the other features you are looking for come with the paid plans.

Thanks @Crystal72  - I do have the paid program, and I'm still struggling to find any of these options.  So I assume you were able to set up a BOGO because you are part of the BETA testing?  I have looked at the coupon area and do not see any options for an automatic coupon to be sent to someone who signs up.  Nor do I see any notifications when someone does sign up so I can manually send them a discount.  I would love to be able to offer buy 1 or 2, get 1 free as a special sale going on, but I see no way to do that on Square Online either - only on the Square POS.  😞  Am I missing something??  It's very time consuming to try to figure this all out...  I'm sorry if I seem cross, I'm just frustrated...
