Domain stuck on Weebly

I transferred my old domain from Google Domains to Square over a month ago. It's no longer accessible from Google, and it's not accessible from Square. Square just says "your domain is transferring" My website is now hosted by Weebly (owned by Square) for some reason, and I have no way to access it.

I have spent hours on the phone with customer service and the only solution I had was to buy a different domain name. It's as if they have stolen my domain name.

I found a similar issue on Weebly's old community board. The transfer had completed, but the domain wasn't added as a service to the account. Can anyone help me?

This has damaged a month of my income and will cause me to order new business cards if I can't get my domain name back.

I have taken a look into the Whois info for the domain piercewaldenleather.com and it appears despite being registered on registrar 'Registrar.com, Inc' the domain remains on google domains' nameservers listed below:

 

ns-cloud-c1.googledomains.com 216.239.32.108
ns-cloud-c2.googledomains.com 216.239.34.108
ns-cloud-c3.googledomains.com 216.239.36.108
ns-cloud-c4.googledomains.com 216.239.38.108

 

As Weebly resell the domains you register through square, Weebly are essentially the owners of the domain if you bought it through them. 

This means Weebly/Square will need to configure the domain from Register.

If you bought the domain directly through an ICANN registered registrar then you will have had to make an account to transfer the domain into I believe (depending on how register handle this stuff - I usually buy through Dynadot and Hartserver so I'm not certain how register operate their domain system).

This shows 'Shiloh Walden', who I guess to be you as the admin of the domain - if this info is accurate, you will need to login to your account and change your nameservers back over to:

dns1.register.com and dns2.register.com

 to regain control of the domain on register.com.

 

You will then need to add the following records in order to point the domain to Square (These records may vary by IP address due to your location as I'm a Square UK customer so do check the instructions over at https://square.online/checkout/domain-settings/).

Once you've done this make sure you connected the domain on Square's end too and you should be all set!

I'm a web developer and I'm highly experienced in DNS Management, if you can share some details with me such as what the domain name is then I can take a look at what publicly available whois info there is to say where it is currently registered and also provide you with some info that would solve the Square vs Weebly issue you appear to be experiencing!

So just reply to this thread with the domain name - Please also tag me in the reply so I receive an email alert, then I can find out the details asap and get them over to you.

Please note that by law, a registrar may delay a transfer up to 60 days and this may (and more than likely is) an automatic process!

Thank you! My domain name is piercewaldenleather.com. On the ICANN lookup page, it shows register.com as the registrar. They're the ones who told me it is registered by weebly. If it is on a 60 day hold, is there any way to tell? I didn't change my contact information, but at this point that might be the issue.

Thank you for the detailed reply! Since I purchased the domain through Google Domains and then transferred to Square, I do not have a register.com account or anywhere that I can change the name servers. If I understand you right, Square/ Weebly needs to take action, and I cannot. Is that correct?

Yes. I unlocked the domain on Google, and followed instructions on the Square website. I've never dealt with any other sites. I initiated the transfer on Square and I'm unable to cancel or edit anything on Square.

I don't have an account with register.com, and I've never input anything there. I input information on Google Domains when I transferred it out.

Thanks for the tag, @MJD and hi, @Walden_Leather. I took a look from our end and it looks like something got stuck once the transfer completed. I manually finished the process on our end so you should see the domain in your account now. Let me know if you have any trouble!

Maybe you can help me! I purchased my domain from Godaddy back in 2019 and transferred it to square/weebly.  now I'm transferring it to a florist host and I've been waiting days to hear back from the weebly advanced support team on switching the account to a direct personal account with register.com.  at this point i just want them to either make the domain public since i already unlocked it and ill have register.com process the transfer or just weebly just finish doing whatever it is. I've been dealing with this for over a week and have been waiting almost 2 days for a update for the support team. i do have a case number. i just don't understand why they wont let me have my domain and set it to public so i can transfer it out.  HELP

@MJD I'm facing a similar issue with domain.  I purchased my domain through Weebly.  When looking up on whois.register.com, the admin email is a random email and an address that is not mine.  Additionally, it says Client Transfer Prohibited in the Domain Status.  How do I get access to my domain?
