How to update your business hours for public holidays or for the festive season

Whether you need to open for an extra shopping day, close for a public holiday, or adjust your hours for last-minute staffing changes you can make changes from your online Square Dashboard. Follow the steps below!

Note: At this time it’s not possible to change your hours from your Point of Sale (app/Terminal/Register). To change your business hours sign in to your online Square Dashboard

Steps: How to change your business hours

Sign in to your online Square Dashboard from a browser to extend your business hours to give customers more time to shop, or update your business hours to account for last-minute staffing changes.

To change your business hours online:

1. Visit squareup.com/dashboard -> sign in.
2. Click the ‘hamburger’ icon in the top left -> select Account & Settings.
3. Select Business Information ->  Locations.
4. From the list of locations click on the name of the location you wish to adjust. 
5. Scroll down and you’ll see the option to edit your business hours under ‘Regular Hours’ -> make your changes -> click Save.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each location where the new business hours apply.

Why can we not have a "Holiday Hours" page just like Google My Business offers where we can choose specific dates and set our hours for those dates so we don't have to "edit" our main business hours and then remember to go back in and change them? Weebly offers "Restricted Dates" Which is PERFECT but why is this not an option in square? Below are examples of both my Weebly/Square Online hours and my Google Hours

Has this ever been fixed that you know of? What a pain in the butt to update your Holiday hours after you close on your last day and to remember to update them again before you re-open!

Can someone help with Holiday hours? We will be closed 11/28, 11/29 & 11/30, which are on a normal week Regular hours/days. Is there a way to make them CLOSED "Holidays" so I don't have to REMEMBER to go into the app and show those days as CLOSED and then have to go back and show them as OPEN the following week? Google offers "Days" to select as CLOSED. Help!
