Remove payment from reports without refunding

 have a client that paid with a credit card, and I refunded them in cash. I would like to remove their invoice total from being part of the yearly reports since it is no longer income. The issue is that there is no option to click refunded in cash, it only allows me to refund to their card to make it "go away".

Anyone know a work around?

@Smash0323 Umm, sorry to be that one on this one, but there will NEVER be an option to return cash for a card transaction especially a Credit Card Transaction.

It is actually illegal to do that, as then it becomes a Cash Advance.  Never never never refund a credit card transaction in cash.  You can actually get your account suspended as it is specifically in the terms of service to never do that.  Square doesn't allow cash advance type businesses, and while I don't think you intended this in any way, you just still end up in this situation.

The only work around now is to do it manually from your reporting.  As far as square is concerned, the credit transaction happened and it stays happened till you refund it back to the card.

I had NO idea and its not standard for me at all. After 13 years in business I never knew that. Luckily its not something I have done a lot, therefore never came across this. Thank you for this, and being kind and educational in your answer.

In doing more reading I'm seeing that i can refund DEBIT cards in cash, but not CREDIT cards.
