Hey @paparazzifever! Welcome to the Community.

Venmo is a money transfer app so there wouldn't be a way to use Square with it. We're not partnered with them in any way.

If you turn on the tip function in your square system so that they can add the tip like they normally do in Square before the final checkout then the correct amount including tip is in the transaction report and it will match up with the Venmo payment. You just need to go completely thru the checkout process in your Square POS before they pay with Venmo

Actually it does not let them add a tip when choosing other.

Hey there @Immaculatebrows

At this time, other tender payments will not prompt for tips, so my advice is that these sorts of transactions would have to be recorded manually on your end whenever they have a tip.

Ashley, can my square funds balance be transferred to Venmo? Or is a bank account the only transfer option? Thank you

I’m trying to understand why?  My customers want to pay invoices with Venmo, Checks, or Cash and I cannot figure how to take these payments

Hey guys, just wondering what are the chances of Venmo getting integrated into Square, as a very large portion of my customers are using it. Thank You

Is there a possibility of square adding Venmo?  I have several clients asking to pay that way!

Hello @Roontunes

Great to see you posting for the first time, welcome to the Seller Community!

I went ahead and moved your question to a similar thread here.

Take a look at @ashc's response.  Considering Venmo is a direct competitor, it is not likely that we will establish a partnership with them anytime soon...but you never know!

I would like to see Venmo virtual card be added to square. We have a lot of customers wanting to use that feature.

Had a large customer for us want to pay today via venmo.  It is for about $1300, so this would be interesting to add as a feature.  If enough customers ask for it long term, we will migrate to what is going to make the most sense for our guests.  Consider this a plus one, on integrating with other service providers to make it as easy for us as possible.  With your ~2.5 percent and there ~1.9% that leaves some delta there to still make a few bits off of it.  Have a groovy day.

The way we use Venmo with square is like this.  We have the Venmo QR code at the register, when we ring someone up with Venmo, we select other payment and type in Venmo. At the end of the day the report shows up as other/Venmo

Okay.  But wouldn’t it show up as a double deposit in square once the Venmo gets cashed into square business checking account?

No, because Square is just logging the Venmo sale. No money is being transacted through Square. It's just like a cash sale, but it will show up in the Other tabvenmo.png

If you want Venmo to show up in Square reports, when you check out tap other payment and type in Venmo. At the end of the day when you do a report any Venmo transaction will show up as Other.

Is there a way to use Venmo as a payment option with square? I see that Amazon just started the ability to use Venmo as a payment option.

HI, hopefully this previous Square Discussion will help.  Venmo does not integrate with Square.

Hope this helps.

A couple of different options are available. If it’s an in person sale then during check out you enter the payment as “ other” then put Venmo in the notes. If it’s a different type of transaction then you would create an invoice in Square and then manually take payment on the invoice as above. Both ways would require you to have the customer scan your Venmo QR to pay though since there’s no Venmo/square integration available to accept Venmo directly via Square. The 2 options listed are just to enter the transaction into your Square so it’s listed in reports and inventory is adjusted accordingly

i created an item called tip and made variations of cash, venmo, cash app, and bitcoin.

square is so lame for nickel and diming. i can't even track my backbar pulled from retail as not for retail to adjust my inventory to pay use tax on it. this is such a basic feature for tax purposes and after 8 hours dealing with customer service they told me I can pay $90 for retail plus on top of the $50 I'm paying for appointments. RIDICULOUS!
