Why does Square hold mobile deposits for up to 6 business days
Square has held a business check deposit for 7 working days. This not the first time. Customer service can not tell you why and no reason is given. The funds should clear in one day. Either squares backing system is terrible or they are purposely hold the funds. Either way it is a major weakness and probably a violation of ach clearing times.

While in a perfect world business checks would clear sooner, it can take up to two business days for the check itself to clear and up to 5 busines days for the bank to receive the money.
These are normal banking procedures and shorter deposit times is usually a result of an on-going relationship between you and your bank. Whether Square speeds up that process I am not sure however I've had checks take up to a week and a half to clear before.
ACH Clearing times only applies to ACH Deposits, please note that ACH clearing times don't apply to traditional checks.
That said I am sorry to hear they're holding a check and I hope it clears soon or at least you get an explanation.
Please Require Customers to pick time/date at checkout for Square online. Thanks!
