Why did I need to confirm my account for my second Weebly site, but not my first?

I already confirmed it and have no problem, but I was wondering why I needed to type in my phone number even after I had logged in to my account.

This could be happening due to a few reasons:

Possible Explanations:

  1. Security Verification:

    • Sometimes, after logging in, platforms ask for additional verification (like phone numbers) for security purposes. This helps ensure the account is being accessed by the rightful owner, especially when sensitive actions like making payments or changing account settings are involved.
  2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):

    • If the account has two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, it could prompt for the phone number as part of the authentication process. Even if the user is logged in, 2FA requires an additional verification step, often through SMS or an authenticator app.
  3. Account Recovery/Reset:

    • If the system detects unusual activity or if the account needs recovery, it may ask for the phone number to send a recovery link or code. This ensures that the account holder can verify their identity to regain access.
  4. Account Settings or Profile Update:

    • Some systems may request users to enter their phone number if it's missing or incomplete in their profile. The system could prompt for the phone number to update or verify the account information.

Hope this helps 🙂
