What is the difference between text confirmation and text reminder?why should I have both turned on?

Hey there, @Marialipski -
Getting a text confirmation sends the customer the information for the appointment they made.
A text reminder sends another message to the customer before the appointment. You can set it from 1 hour to 3 days beforehand. All of those options are found in your Communications section of the Appointments tab.

I'd check Communications in your Appointments settings on the Dashboard to make sure they're enabled there!

@Kassi_ hi Kassi - can this feature be used for restaurant pick up text reminder orders? Or is it only used for businesses that have appointments only? Thank you!

Why can't I edit my Text Confirmation? ALL the texts are telling clients I will call them and I have repeated locations telling them they MUST call me. NO ONE can fix this??? Why can't we edit text confirmations????

no. I had a customer say to me they replied to my appointment reminder with some info on the job, but I didn't know they replied anything. Is there a way those messages can get forwarded to me. Hopefully that makes more sense.

I see @jeffshafer12! You should be receiving emails from donotreply@squareappointments.com when your clients/customers reply to you via text.

I don't get the emails. I checked the junk folder and everything. Do you know if there is a setting I might have changed for that?

I am wanting to disable the text back feature on Square appointment reminders and confirmations (so it says "this number does not allow messages, please text/ call our main number XXX-XXXX" . We wish for all communicating to be directed to our main salon phone number.
This is causing much confusion on where clients should be communicating about appointments booked especially when reception staff is answering off-site!
