different modifyers for variations of an item

We sell custom boxes of chocolate truffles, in which customers can chose the size of their box (4-piece, 6-piece, 12-piece, or 24-piece, then run through a list of flavors they would like to include.  Right now there are 18 options (possibly more later), but after setting up the variations, my customers can now chose 18 flavors to fill a 4-piece box.

How can I limit the number of choices they can make to the size of the box they picked in an earlier step?

Currently, there isn't a way to limit the choices amount the number of variations selected within that item. 

I would be happy to tag this as a Feature Request for our Product Team! I could see other sellers within similar businesses utilizing this too.
