Tablet incompatible because Square reports modified Android
I have a Chuwi tablet running Android 5.1 that I would dearly love to use with my Square POS - because it's got a high res large screen. The Chuwi tablet is not on the Square compatibility list.
Unforunately the tablet must have some sort of modified version of Android because Square reports that it won't connect with the reader because the OS is rooted or modified.
Has anyone tried to overcome this problem by reloading Android on the talet? Or is there some other approach worth a try?

Welcome to the seller community, @Chuwi, and thanks for your post.
I went to check on this and CHUWI tablets aren't supported with Point of Sale at this time. For more on which devices will work with Square, keep an eye on our Device Compatibility page.
I'll be sharing your post with our Point of Sale team and point out how supporting more devices with high resolution large screens is an important factor for your business. Please keep in touch for updates!

Thanks Tom
Yes, I am aware that the tablet is not on the supported list. Seems to be a problem with the modified version of Android 5.1 installed on these devices. I was looking for some advice on the possibility of reloading an Android version and/or firmware that would allow the tablet to work with Square. Is this a feasible idea?

Got it. Sorry for the frustration—in general, we aren't able to support devices with modified operating systems. I went to check for any other options related to this tablet but there isn't anything that we can suggest at this time. There's a wide variety of Android mobile devices and we strive to support as many as possible. If anything else comes up, we'll circle back to this thread.

OK, thanks. Understand.
Anyone else got experience or ideas of ways around this?
