Cash Counter App

When will apps become available for the Square Register where I can count the drawer like cash counter? No apps are available like the original stand where you can download apps on the ipad and use them to help.

It sounds like you were set up with Square Stand earlier, which is iOS/iPad-based and allows you to download additional apps. While we do not offer the ability to download supplemental apps with Square Register at this time, I'd like to share some more insight with our product team. Do you happen to recall the app that you were using for counting cash earlier, or—in an ideal setup—what are the top features of a cash counter that would be most helpful for your business?

I have been using square just to process credit sales but have just switched to square for retail today. We need the ability for a cash count down when you end the drawer you need to be able to enter how many bills for each denomination and how many coins for each denomination and when your done it would be nice if it told subtracted your start money, told you if the drawer was over or short, and display the amount of cash that should be deposited that day so that you start the next day with your same start money. 

I think this this is actually a big issue and when working with 3-5 employees it would greatly simplify the start and end process of the day. 

As I said we just started using square for all our transactions but we may have to look into other pos systems as cash drawer management is very important in a brick and mortar store.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed suggestion. Card processing is our first priority, so we haven't been able to build out a more dynamic system for cash counting yet, but I definitely see how this would be useful for your business and other's as well. 

I'll escalate this to our Product team as a feature request and hopefully this will be something we can implement in the future!
